- Human Resources Code Ch(s) 102, 48
- Reportable Conduct (ANE) & Complaint Investigation
- Health and Safety Code Ch(s). 142, 250, 81 & 85
- OSHA and Infection Control
- Solicitation, Fraud,Waste and Abuse
- Overview of State-funded Programs (for Home Health, Hospice, and Personal Assistance Services)
Wednesday, March 20, 2010:
The regulations covered this day count toward the continuing education requirements in the administration of agencies located at 97.260 for administrators and alternate administrators.The regulations also include the following subject areas for initial training: all regulations-- “Agency Responsibilities” at 97.259(d)(4); Medicare home health regulations— “OASIS” at 97.259(d)(10); Hospice regulations—“Nutrition” at 97.259(d)(9)

Wednesday, March 10, 2010: Home Care & Hospice (Optional Specialty Day) (5.25 contact hours continuing education for nurses; 5.25 clock hours Admin./Alternates)
Two Concurrent Sessions:
- Medicare Home Health Conditions of Participation (COPs), Coverage Guidelines, State Operations Manual (SOM), PPS and OASIS
- State Licensure and Medicare Regulations for Hospice
Speakers:
Rachel Hammon, RN, BSN, is the Director of Clinical Practice & Regulatory Affairs at TAHC&H where she provides clinical and regulatory information and guidance to member agencies in Texas. Mrs. Hammon reviews, revises and develops sample policies and procedures and monitors rules & regulations to assist agencies for compliance with state and federal laws.
Lisa Selman-Holman, JD, BSN, RN, HCS-D, COS-C is a 23 year veteran of home care with experience as a field nurse, director and executive with home care and hospice agencies. Soon after graduating from University of Houston with her law degree she took a position as the Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Texas Association for Home Care where she advocated for home care agencies and acted as a regulatory resource. She has been involved in accreditation surveys, acquisitions and many regulatory crises with state survey agencies and the intermediary, including termination proceedings and investigations. Lisa has extensive experience in legal and risk management, development of policies, survey compliance, appeals of Medicare denials, writing Corrective Action Plans, and start-ups of parent and branch agencies. Lisa has established her own home care consulting company, Selman-Holman & Associates, LLC, and her professional home care coding company, CoDR – Coding Done Right.
Rebecca McMinn is a Registered Nurse, with a Masters in Business Administration. With over 35 years in nursing, the majority of her experience has been in the ICU setting and in hospice. She brings twenty-five years of experience in the hospice field to the Texas based home health and hospice consulting firm, HealthCare ConsultLink. Rebecca served on the Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice Organization’s Board, Board Member and Past President of Texas New Mexico Hospice Organization, and is a member of Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice’s Clinical Practice Committee.
