TAHC&H Urges Providers to Comment on the Proposed Rules
by September 14, 2010

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published the Proposed Rule on the 2011 Medicare home health payment rates late Friday, July 16, 2010 (See TAHC&H Perspective, July 19, 2010). The rule was formally published in the Federal Register July 23rd. Public comments can be submitted through Sept. 14, 2010.

The Proposed Rule includes the 2011 payment rates along with multiple other proposals such as requirements for face-to-face physician encounters to certify care plans, new therapy coverage and documentation standards, provider enrollment and capitalization modifications, and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) requirements. Each of these items have been analyzed and detailed for TAHC&H members.  TAHC&H has also outlined concerns related to the CMS proposals.

This proposed rule has significant changes that will have severe effects on the home health industry.  It is imperative that each member read the rules and submit comments to CMS.  It is so important that all home care voices are heard.  Please take a moment to read the analysis that will stay posted on the TAHC&H website.  We hope that this will provide you with a guide when making comments to these proposed rules.  Click here to go to the analysis.  Click here to access the proposed rule.
