In 2003, the Texas Legislature made modifications to state advance directive laws revised in 1999.  The Texas Hospital Association has updated and revised its implementation kit originally produced in 1999.  The kit includes “how-to” tools to help Texas Medicare- and Medicaid participating facilities – such as hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and home health agencies – comply with state requirements, as well as the federal Patient Self-Determination Act.
